Actor - Grant Weiss as "Calik"
Born in Chicago, IL He has always loved the medium of Photography and Motion Picture Film. He was been attached to a camera since a young boy and took that passion to Columbia College Chicago to further develop his skills in shooting, directing, acting and writing. The friendships he has made there were also as important as the knowledge he got from his time there.
One life long friendship began from the first audition for the film Burden, with Mike Lynch. “I really liked the aggressiveness of the project and his determination to reach his goals with this project. I immediately grabbed talented people I knew to work on it, because I knew this was going to be a project to be part of; including my cousin Aaron Crippen who was the Stunt Coordinator and thankful my stunt double.”
Right after Graduation Grant had the honor of being Christian Bale’s stand for Batman Begins and The Dark Knight when they shot in Chicago. This unforgettable opportunity gave me the chance to watch closely how two of Hollywood’s heavy hitters, (Dir.) Christopher Nolan and (DP) Wally Pfister work and create amazing films. Grant wrote, directed and shot a TV Pilot called Sacrifice, which played in the NYTVF festival in NY and just 4 days after the Dark Knight wrapped Grant won the award for Best Director at the NYTVF
Grant recently started a media company called Highlight Media Group based in Chicago that produces commercials, company videos, music videos and more. “All my experiences have brought me to where I am today and I look forward to when I can work with some the very talented people I met on the filming of Burden, specially the producer, director and friend Mike Lynch.”
