Composer – Rob Simonsen
From independent, Sundance award-winning films to major studio releases, Rob's writing range has spanned from small, eclectic ensembles to 85-piece orchestras with choir. His first foray into film was the lush, orchestral score for the indie feature Westender (2003), praised as "...unusually rich" (Variety), "resonant", "vibrant and powerful". The score caught the attention of composer Mychael Danna, which in turn lead to work writing additional music and arranging for films like Surf's Up, The Nativity Story, Fracture, Breach, and Lonely Hearts.
Rob and Mychael recently co-scored Management, starring Jennifer Aniston, Fox Searchlight's 500 Days of Summer, and Joss Wedon's Dollhouse. Hot off of finishing the Dollhouse TV series Rob dived head first into Burden’s epic score.
Rob lives and works in Los Angeles.
